My name is Daniel, I live on the south coast of England UK with my family and it's great to have you visit my site. Thank you in advance!
A bit about me - I've worked in the video game industry for 16 years as a Game Designer and Director, which has been lots of fun, but my passion has always been writing and all things horror. After a recent redundancy, I figured this was the time to try my hand at becoming a full-time horror writer... so here we are.
I particularly love creating dread and unease, slowly, over the course of a story before a big action packed climatic ending. I love that feeling of knowing something isn't quite right and that there's something sinister just around the corner... and hopefully I can capture that for my readers, too.
Thanks again for visiting. If you have any questions please reach out to me at daniel@danielkipps.com
A chilling collection of nine horror short stories inspired by the Cthulhu Mythos and the unknowable gods of the void.
In the shadow of ancient stars, madness waits…
Step into a world where the veil between reality and nightmare is dangerously thin. In this terrifying collection of nine short stories, you’ll journey from the lightless trenches of the deep sea to haunted forests, lonely space stations, and forgotten ruins where whispers in haunted dead languages still echo. These aren’t just horror tales, they're creeping warnings from the abyss.
Tales of Cthulhu and Other Gods of Old draws inspiration from the Cthulhu Mythos, Nyarlathotep, and other Great Old Ones, but don’t expect a creature feature in every chapter. Here, the horror lies in implication, atmosphere, and the slow every unraveling of sanity. Some stories barely hint at what lies beyond the veil. Others? They stare straight into the maw of cosmic oblivion.
If you're seeking a full-blown Cthulhu descent into madness, The Sleeper’s Breath is your must-read. For something more subtle and sinister, Stranger at the Station offers a chilling glimpse at a possible manifestation of Nyarlathotep, cloaked in shadow and cruel intent.
You'll also find:
Whether to you're a long-time devotee of H.P. Lovecraft or a newcomer drawn to cosmic dread, this collection offers a diverse range of horrors unified by one thing: the cold certainty that something older, darker, and infinitely more powerful than mankind is waiting. Watching. Breathing. Dreaming.
Dare to read. Dare to remember. The Old Gods are patient.
